The HT280T is an all-in-one autosampler that combines in a single unit a traditional liquid sample injection, a static headspace and a SPME (Solid Phase micro-extraction) autosampler.
Changing from Liquid to Headspace or to SPME is as simple as changing the sample tray, syringe and vial sensor (about 5 minutes in total without the need to remove the autosampler from the GC). Conversion kits are supplied according to your needs (kit for liquid, head-space and SPME can be provisioned separately). Just one simple tool (supplied) is required for the conversion which takes around 5 minutes to complete with the autosampler in situ.
Liquid Autosampler Operation
Up to 110 samples may be processed as single or batch injections using one or more analysis methods. Any 12x32mm vial may be used with any cap type. All parameters from the sampling depth through to the injection speed, depth and dwell times may be programmed through the front panel or via the HT-COMSoft Windows software.
The automatic injection sequence may have up to 15 steps which can be programmed to include: first sample of group, last sample of group, analytical method, number of injections for each sample, pre- and post-washing solvent position, internal standard position (if used).
Key Features includes:
- Syringe may be washed with solvent or sample;
- Injections may be made on two columns (high throughput and confirmation mode);
- Rotating head design leaves injection port free for manual injection;
- Internal standard sampling;
- Memory stores 10 different method;
- Variable fill speed allows for wide range of sample viscosity;
- Sampling system eliminates air bubble;
- Programmable sampling and injection speed.
Headspace Autosampler Operation
The system is supplied with a heated syringe to extract headspace samples from the 6 position orbital oven/shaker. No transfer lines are required and the unit mounts directly on the GC thus reducing bench space requirements. Operation is via the simple keypad or by HT-COMSoft software. Up to 40, 20ml or 10ml headspace vials may be stored in the standard tray.
Key Features includes:
- No transfer lines means no sample carry over;
- Rotating head design leaves injection port free for manual injection;
- Progressive sample transfer means samples always ready when previous run complete;
- May be configured for left or right operation;
- Gas flush of syringe between injections.
SPME Solid Phase Micro-Extraction Autosampler Operation
Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) is a valid GC sample techniques able to further increase laboratory productivity by offering a significant reduction in sample preparation time. In one-step process, you will able to perform extraction, concentration and introduction of analytes into GC. No hazardous solvent and no large extraction solvent quantity is necessary. Furthermore no solvent injection and fast analytes desorbtion improve minimum detection limits.
With SPME analytes are adsorbed onto the stationary phases coated on either fused silica or metal fibers then are thermally desorbed from the fiber to a GC inlet onto a capillary column. SPME techniques could require headspace or liquid extraction: HT280T performs both by setting vial penetration depth.
HT280T support derivatisation pre- or post-extraction phase as application notes could require. Extraction is performed in the heated oven also through gently rocking: rocking speed is programmable and also low speeds to reduce mechanical stress on fiber are supported. Oven door is kept closed during extraction: by this temperature is kept constant during extraction (it is very important in long time extraction).
Fiber cleaning after liquid extraction is supported; furthermore cleaning after desorbtion is supported too by injector or by an external cleaning device (optional).
SPME is useful in many different analyses, including: environmental, forensic, food/flavor and pharma. To know more about SPME visit:
Key Features includes:
- Headspace and liquid extraction both supported;
- Oven door is kept closed during extraction to reduce mechanical stress on the fiber (oven door act as needle guide).
